Angry Birds Star Wars Darth Vader’s Lightsaber Battle Game Review (Hasbro)

What It Is

The new Angry Birds Star Wars app comes to life with a line of toys from Hasbro. Just like in the app, kids can build structures and knock down Star Wars-inspired Angry Birds characters. Darth Vader's Lightsaber Battle Game captures all the launching and destroying fun of the app in physical form. The game includes an exclusive Obi-Wan Kenobi bird figure, a Darth Vader pig, and a Storm Trooper pig. The game comes with a lightsaber launcher and a lightsaber hilt with six blocks to build Darth Vader's lightsaber. Launch Obi-Wan into the lightsaber structure to knock it down, along with the Storm Trooper and Darth Vader. The game also includes a special code to unlock special content within the Angry Birds Star Wars app.

Is It Fun?

Darth Vader's Lightsaber Battle Game has elements that are derived from the Angry Birds Star Wars app, but interpreted in a way that works as a real-life skill-and-action game. It adds a social and interactive dimension to the electronic game. The build-it-up-knock-it-down action is perfectly positioned for younger kids.

Even though this is called a game, there is no scoring system. Kids can create their own scoring system if they want to play a game that has winners and losers, but younger kids who just like to crash things might enjoy it as it is, especially with the Star Wars characters.

Who It’s For

The Angry Birds Star Wars Darth Vader's Lightsaber Battle Game is for ages 5 and up.
