Goggle Eyes Review (Goliath Games)

What It Is

Goggle Eyes is a silly drawing game for two to four teams. The object is to be the first team to successfully make it around the gameboard from start to finish. Players take turns drawing challenges for their team to guess. If the team guesses right before time runs out, they roll the die and move forward on the board. If they guess wrong, they don't move anywhere on the board.

The catch is that the person drawing has to wear the Goggle Eyes glasses while drawing. The glasses have special lenses that make it difficult to see what you are drawing. There are three levels of difficulty: green lenses are easy, yellow lenses are medium, and blue lenses are hard. So if your team rolls the die and lands on yellow, your team's drawer would have to put the yellow lenses into the glasses before drawing. Once the lenses are in place, the drawer rolls the die again to find out which colored word on the challenge card they must draw. There are 54 challenge cards, each with three drawing challenges on them. The cards are split into three categories: Objects, Entertainment, and Places.

Goggle Eyes comes with a pair of glasses, three sets of lenses, a gameboard, four plastic playing pieces, a drawing pad, two pencils with erasers, a die, a timer, 54 challenge cards, and an instruction manual.

Is It Fun?

We're a big fan of Goliath Games, but we didn't love Goggle Eyes as much as some of Goliath's other games. This game reminds us a little bit of Pictionary but with funny glasses. Unfortunately, wearing the glasses really distorts everything. We couldn't even see the paper pad or pencil to start drawing. Conceptually, we like the idea of the distortion, but we found it too hard.

Who It’s For

Goggle Eyes is for ages 7 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The Goggle Eyes glasses are meant for game use only. Don't try walking around while wearing them.
