Switch & Go Dinos Brok the Brachiosaurus Review (VTech)

What It Is

Brok the Brachiosaurus is one of the newest and biggest Switch & Go Dinos. Brok transforms into a race car- and pterodactyl-launching truck with just a few twists and turns of the toy. The screen on Brok's face changes based on the mode he is in, vehicle or dino. There are four buttons to control movement and sound in each mode. The action button moves Brok's neck in dino mode or turns on the lights in vehicle mode. The style button lets kids choose a driver in vehicle mode or change Brok's eyes in dino mode. Press the talk button to hear Brok or the driver talk, and press the sound button to hear different sound effects. There are more than 80 sound effects and phrases. Kids can also push Brok (his feet have wheels) to hear Brok stomp his feet. In vehicle mode, just pull down on the launching spoiler to send the race car down the front of the truck and send the Pterodactyl flying off the race car.

Is It Fun?

Brok the Brachiosaurus combines two play patterns that preschoolers love: vehicles and dinosaurs. Kids will like that they can play with this toy in two ways, along with the racing and launching action. This toy is great for its construction, whimsical play, and versatility.

Who It’s For

Brok the Brachiosaurus is for ages 3–8.

What To Be Aware Of

Four AA batteries are included, but they power the in-store try-me features. VTech recommends replacing these batteries before you play for best results.

Brok includes a volume button.

We had some trouble getting the Pterodactyl to fly off the race car. The car needs to make a hard impact with the floor to trigger the Pterodactyl-launching mechanism. We were never able to figure out how to make this happen every time we launched the race car off of Brok in truck mode.
