Talking Tom Talk Back Review (Dragon-i Toys)

What It Is

Fans of the popular Talking Friends app can now play with the characters from the app off-screen. Much like the features on the app, Talking Tom Talk Back repeats everything you say in his own voice. Press Tom's left paw and talk to hear Tom repeat what you say. You can also rub Tom's tummy, stroke Tom's forehead, or hold Tom's foot to hear familiar sounds from the app, such as purring, a crazy cat yelp, a cuckoo bell, silly slaps, and more.

Is It Fun?

While the talk-back feature works pretty well, we had some trouble with Talking Tom Talk Back's other sensors. It's hard to feel where the sensors are on Tom's tummy, forehead, and foot. You have to press down really hard on Tom's tummy, instead of merely rubbing it, to get a reaction.

Also, the Talking Friends app is a little more interactive than Talking Tom Talk Back. But for younger kids who want to be able to take Tom with them wherever they go and snuggle up with Tom at bedtime, they might find this animated stuffed animal fun.

Who It’s For

Talking Tom Talk Back is for Talking Friends fans ages 3 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Three AAA batteries are included, but they power the in-store try-me feature. It is recommended that you replace them before you play for best results.

Eight-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch sizes of Talking Tom soft toys with app-only sound (no talk-back feature) are also available and sold separately. There are also key chains of Talking Tom available and sold separately. And if Talking Ben is your favorite character, all of these toys are available in Talking Ben versions.
