The ColorPlay Game is part of Briarpatch's PlayPlay line of collaborative games designed to encourage creative and imaginative thinking. ColorPlay comes with a 20-inch by 20-inch color wheel mat, 24 double-sided color and pattern shapes, 24 shape it cards, and a spinner. There are three ways to play.
Game 1 is Puzzle It. Players find the matching patterns to complete their slice of the color wheel. Take turns spinning the spinner, and then all players look for the color shape with the same pattern the spinner landed on. When you find it, place it in the correct spot on the color wheel mat. The game ends when all players have created their sections of the color wheel.
The object of Game 2: Shape It is to match all of the color shapes to the shape it cards. Spread out the color shapes with the pattern side facing down. Place the shape it cards facing down in the center of the playing area. On your turn, flip over the top shape it card and try to find the matching color shape. When you find it, put it in your team pile. The game ends when you have matched all the shape it cards.
In Game 3: Build It, players build an abstract structure using as many of the color shapes as they can. Take turns adding color shapes to build the structure as high as you can. The game ends when you have used as many of the color shapes as you can to create the structure before it falls over.
ColorPlay is for two to six players.
Through the play of the ColorPlay Game, kids practice their color and pattern recognition and matching skills. The games also encourage kids to get creative and use their imaginations (especially when building a structure in game 3) as well as work together to meet each game's objective and win. We like that there are multiple ways to play ColorPlay so that kids can play a different way each time.
The ColorPlay Game is for ages 5 and up.
Additional PlayPlay games include PaintPlay and StoryPlay, which are sold separately.
