Kid-Tough Apptivity Case Review (Fisher-Price)

What It Is

The Kid-Tough Apptivity Case lets preschoolers safely play with mom and dad's iPhone or iPod Touch. The case has a clear screen cover to protect against drips and sticky fingers. The sturdy outer shell also has a hole in the back so that kids can still use the iPhone or iPod camera. The Apptivity Case comes with two device inserts: one that fits an iPod (and that comes already installed in the case) and one with smaller cushions to fit an iPhone. To switch the inserts, just pull out the one inside the case and slide the tabs of the other insert into the slots in the case. There are separate directions for inserting the iPod or iPhone so that the home button is not accessible and so that preschoolers can access the home button. If you block your child from pressing the home button, you also block the camera. The Kid-Tough Apptivity Case also comes with three free learning apps (Little People Learning Market, Imaginext Dinosaurs, and Fisher-Price Photo Studio) that can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. The Kid-Tough Apptivity Case is available in blue or pink.

Is It Fun?

Even with the clear protective screen, your iPhone or iPod Touch is still very responsive to finger swipes. You may have to press a little harder than normal for the home button, though. This is a great idea for parents who want to allow their preschoolers to play with these expensive devices.

Who It’s For

The Kid-Tough Apptivity Case is for ages 3 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The Kid-Tough Apptivity Case is compatible with the iPhone, the iPhone 3G/3GS, the iPhone 4/4S, and the iPod Touch 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation. These devices are not included with the Apptivity Case.

This is a version of the case that Fisher-Price launched in 2011 for infants. This won't seem so baby-ish to older kids while still providing a lot of protection.
