Pokemon Conquest Review (Nintendo)

What It Is

Pokémon Conquest is an all new Pokemon game with a unique story, new characters and new world. The world is called Ransei and rather than playing as a Pokémon Trainer battling in gyms, Conquest is all about Warlords battling each other to take control of kingdoms.

Is It Fun?

Unlike Pokémon trainers, Warlords don’t search for multiple Pokémon creatures to collect and train. Instead, each Warlord has a psychic bond to one Pokémon, who they use when battling other Warlords. The turn-based battle system that goes back to the earliest Pokémon games is back in Conquest, however, we get to see the Pokémon battle each other on a grid-based battle field.

Who It’s For

The characters and story have a Manga appearance and style that might appeal to an older audience than the typical Pokémon game. While teens and adults may enjoy Conquest as much as the kids that usually love Pokémon games, the content is still suitable for Pokémon’s core audience.

What To Be Aware Of

Pokémon Conquest includes a two-player option. Both players will need a DS unit and copy of the game. Although this is not a 3D game, it can be played on the 3DS.
