Transformers Prime Optimus Maximus Review (Hasbro)

What It Is

Transformers Prime Optimus Maximus is part of Hasbro's Transformers toy line and a toy with two functions. It is a convertible action figure that transforms from a giant robot to a battle station and back again. Each mode features different lights, sounds, and firing missiles. The toy, however, is also a carrying case for the Transformers Cyberverse Legion figures and will hold up to 9 figures in all—Six different Cyberverse Legion figures and three Cyberverse Commander figures.

Is It Fun?

This toy is really most practical as a carrying case with a play feature. The transformation is simple, once kids get the hang of it. It's very cool to create the appearance of a large Transformer made out of lots of smaller vehicles. Moms will like that the toy functions as both a playset and a holder, so when playtime is over cleanup is easy.

Who It’s For

Transformers Prime Optimus Maximus is for ages 5 and up.

It's best for Transformers fans who collect the Cyberverse figures.

What To Be Aware Of

It took us about 10 minutes to put together. The transformation instructions can be difficult to follow, so do not get discouraged. (That's pretty common with Transformers toys.) It might take a lot of trial and error before finally completing the transformation, but that's part of the play.

It requires two AA batteries, which are not included.
