LEGO Star Wars The Malevolence Review (LEGO)

What It Is

The LEGO Star Wars The Malevolence is a 1,094-piece building set that replicates the flagship of General Grievous. The heavy cruiser became a dire threat to the Republic early in The Clone Wars. This model features the spacecraft's signature twin ion cannons that really fire. The top opens to reveal a play area, and kids can pretend to make it fly through the galaxy by lifting up on the handle. The set comes with six minifigures: Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, General Grievous, Count Dooku, the Battle Droid Commander, and a Battle Droid. Weapons include two medium blasters, a blaster pistol, and six lightsabers. Accessories include a wrench and hammer.

Is It Fun?

This model captures the look of the ship complete with lots of internal details that will appeal to Star Wars fans. There's a lot of detail and action built into this model that will engage kids in all kinds of imaginative play.

Who It’s For

The Malevolence is for Star Wars fans and collectors 9–14.

However, we think that LEGO and Star Wars fans of any age will want this model.

What To Be Aware Of

The finished 23.5-inch model is complex with a lot of little pieces, and it took an expert builder about two and a half hours to build it. This is going to appeal to builders who like a little more detail in their building and have the patience to assemble all the small parts.
