With The Cooking Club for Kids Ice Cream Kit, kids can make their own real ice cream. The kit includes a battery-operated ice cream maker, an ice cream scoop, two ice cream bowls with spoons, and four ice cream recipes: Mango and Banana Ice Cream, Strawberry Sorbet, Honeycomb Bar Ice Cream Cake with Chocolate Sauce, and Vanilla Ice Cream. Follow the instructions on the recipe cards to combine ingredients, mix the ice cream in the ice cream maker, and freeze the ice cream.
We made the Mango and Banana Ice Cream. In a bowl, combine 3.38 ounces of condensed milk, 10.14 ounces of pouring cream, and 3.38 ounces of evaporated milk, then stir until well incorporated. Then pour the mixture into the ice cream maker. With a fork, mash a banana and mango in a bowl. Then put the fruit mixture into the ice cream maker. Put the ice cream lid on and press the freeze and mix button, then place the ice cream maker into the freezer. After three to four hours, the ice cream will be ready to take out of the freezer. Let it thaw for about five minutes. This recipe serves four.
The Cooking Club for Kids kits are a great way to let kids participate in cooking. Young kids see chefs cooking on TV and parents cooking in the kitchen, and kids want to make their own food, too. The Cooking Club for Kids Ice Cream Kit makes it easy for kids to make their favorite dessert, while also reinforcing skills, such as following directions and measuring, and giving kids confidence in the kitchen.
The Cooking Club for Kids Ice Cream Kit is for ages 3 and up. Parental supervision is required at all times.
Four AA batteries are required but not included.
It's difficult to take off the lid after the ice cream has been in the freezer. We had to pry the lid off with a flathead screwdriver. Kids will definitely need parental help to open it.
Ingredients are not included in the kit. You'll need to purchase the ingredients for each recipe.
A Cooking Club apron and chef hat are sold separately.
There are a variety of other Cooking Club for Kids kits, including a Pancake Making Kit, Cake Kit, Pasta Kit, Gingerbread Making Kit, and more. Each is sold separately.
Wash the base of the ice cream maker, ice cream scoop, bowls, and spoons in warm water with mild detergent prior to use. Do not immerse the lid of the ice cream maker. The ice cream scoop, bowls, and spoons are dishwasher-safe.
