LEGO DC Universe Superheroes The Batcave Review (LEGO)

What It Is

The Batcave is the lead item in LEGO's DC Universe Superheroes line. This 689-piece set lets kids build a Batcave that's full of play action as kids create their own Bat-adventures. The Batcave features an elevator function that transforms Bruce Wayne into Batman. There is also a holding cell, four flick missiles, a computer with screens, a chair, handcuffs, binoculars, and two Batarangs. Kids can also build Bane's drill tank and the Batcycle. There are five minifigures in this set: Bruce Wayne, Batman, Robin, Poison Ivy, and Bane. The set also comes with a comic book to engage kids in possible story lines.

Is It Fun?

We love the level of detail and all the opportunities for narrative-based Batman play that this set offers. The comic book serves as inspiration for kids' imaginations and to get them into the storyline.

Who It’s For

The Batcave building set is for Batman fans ages 7–14.

Batman tends to appeal to the younger LEGO fans, but anyone who loves the Caped Crusader will respond to the outstanding level of detail in this set. We think that even adult Batman/LEGO fans will find this a great addition to a collection.

What To Be Aware Of

The building set comes with three step-by-step assembly booklets. The pieces are divided into three bags. First you build with bag one, then bag two, and then bag three. Don't mix the pieces from the bags together or building will be confusing.
