The Scholastic Sight Words Popcorn Game helps beginning readers identify 86 sight words using 96 popcorn-shaped playing pieces. Some of the pieces have words on them while others have popcorn kernels on them. Players take turns reaching into the resealable foil bag package and drawing one popcorn piece. In order to keep the popcorn, you must correctly say the word on the popcorn. (Older players can say the word and use it in a sentence.) If you don't answer correctly, set that piece aside, and it's the next player's turn. If you draw a popcorn kernel, you lose all the popcorn pieces you've collected. When all the popcorn pieces have been played, the game is over, and the player with the most popcorn pieces wins.
The Scholastic Sight Words Popcorn Game is a cute way to help kids identify sight words and practice their reading skills. The popcorn pieces make this really fun to play with, especially for kids who like popcorn.
The Scholastic Sight Words Popcorn Game is for ages 3-6.
The game instructions don't specify how many players you need to play, but we think two or more players would suffice.
