Battle Sheep is a strategy game where players move their sheep around a game board, trying to occupy the most spaces. The game comes with 16 pasture boards and 64 sheep tokens in four colors, each with a different funny sheep on it. The game is for two to four players, and each player gets 16 sheep tokens of the same color and four pasture boards. On the pasture boards, each hexagon represents one pasture. Players take turns arranging their pasture boards together to create the playing field. Then, each player places their stack of sheep tokens on the outside perimeter of the playing field. On your turn, split one of your sheep stacks into two stacks, and you can have however many tokens you want in each stack as long as they both contain at least one token. Then move only one of the stacks as far as it can go in a straight line until it either reaches another sheep stack or reaches the perimeter of the playing field. You can only move in a straight line. You also can't combine or jump over other sheep. If your sheep stack is blocked on all sides by other sheep, it's trapped and can no longer be moved. When all players can no longer move any of their sheep, the game is over, and the player who occupies the most pastures wins.
This is a pretty easy-to-play and quick-playing game. Players must think strategically to spread as many of their sheep as they can across the board while also trying to block opponents' sheep so they can't move.
Battle Sheep is for ages 7 and up.
On some of our pasture boards, the black bottom was peeling off, which isn't that big of a deal, but it does prevent those boards from laying flat unless you go ahead and peel off the bottom. Those boards won't be as thick as the others, but you can still play with them.
