Duck & Goose Go to the Beach Review (Schwartz & Wade Books)

What It Is

The Duck & Goose series has quickly become a classic for young children, and this latest adventure has them going to the beach. Duck wants to go on an adventure, but Goose does not. Goose has a bunch of excuses as to why they should stay in their cushy meadow home but eventually gives in. Duck leads them on a hike past many exciting sites, such as the biggest tree they'd ever seen and rolling hills. Once they reach the top of the highest hill, Duck sees the beach in the distance and dashes off towards the sea and Goose has no choice but to follow. When they arrive, guess who decides he doesn't like the beach ... Duck!

Is It Fun?

Author Tad Hills has once again created an adorable story with these two lovable characters. At one time or another, many children are reluctant to embark new adventures. As with most Duck & Goose books, children will identity with either or both characters, and their story is a great way to explore nervous feelings about venturing away from home.
