3D Puzzle Empire State Building Night Edition Review (Ravensburger)

What It Is

The 3D Puzzle Empire State Building Night Edition comes with 216 puzzle pieces for building a three-dimensional 19-inch tall puzzle structure of the Empire State Building as seen at night. The real Empire State Building always has a colorful, brightly lit top at night, and puzzle builders can make this puzzle structure light up, too, in red, orange, yellow, green, and purple thanks to the LCD light panel in the base. The puzzle pieces are numbered with arrows that point in the direction in which you should build next, which makes finding the right pieces easier.

Is It Fun?

The idea behind this puzzle is really cool, however, building it was a little difficult. At times, trying to get one puzzle piece attached would cause a whole row of puzzle pieces to break off. Some of the puzzle pieces are hinged, which means you can bend them 90 degrees. We found that you really have to use a lot of strength to bend them all the way or they won't properly fit in your puzzle. Once we figured that out, the building seemed to go a little smoother, but you really do have to be careful and handle these pieces delicately. If you stick with it, eventually you'll get the hang of it and get into a rhythm where you won't want to stop putting this together. Watching the building take shape is pretty cool.

Who It’s For

The 3D Puzzle Empire State Building Night Edition is for more advanced puzzlers with a lot of patience ages 12 and up.
