The Duty Mitt is a one size fits all mitt, whose material is reminiscent of a wet wipe. The cleaning solution is designed to have ingredients that are antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and safe on pet hair and skin. The mitts are one time use, disposable and sold in packs of 6. Their portable size makes them convenient for taking on walks, but they’re also advertised as a bath alternative, so we decided to put them to the test.

TTPM dogs Lexi and Piper tried out the Duty Mitt. There are no instructions out of the package, so at first we weren’t sure if it was only meant for paws or everything. It cleans paws rather well, but for every other part of the dog, it misses the mark as a full bath substitute, in our opinion. It dried up before we could give Lexi a full wipedown, and Piper’s hair stayed matted down for a while after use. They do have a slight scented deodorant property to them, but at that point, we reckon you should just bathe your dog.

Should I get it?

We had several challenges with the product, so we hesitate to recommend the Duty Mitt highly. If the portable convenience factor and paw cleaning potential are big perks for you, then perhaps try a pack and see how it goes.

Pros

  • They’re portable and easy to take on the go.
  • They’re quite good at cleaning paws.

Cons

  • The Mitt dries up quickly.
  • Outside of paws, it didn’t meet our metric for a bath substitute.
  • They also only come in packs of 6.
