The Monster at the End of This Book eBook Review (Sesame Workshop)

What It Is

Generations of kids have grown up with The Monster at the End of This Book, originally published in 1971. But Sesame Workshop brings the book to a new generation of kids through The Monster at the End of This Book eBook. The story by Jon Stone and illustrations by Michael Smollin stay the same, but this eBook is narrated by Grover himself (or rather Eric Jacobson, the actor who plays Grover).

On each page, lovable, furry old Grover begs the reader not to turn the page for fear of a monster at the end of the book. But Grover ends up feeling a little embarrassed by the last page because, of course, the monster is Grover himself.

Is It Fun?

Kids who love Grover will love the illustrations in this book and hearing Grover tell the story. And for kids who are scared of monsters, this book helps them see that there's really nothing to be scared of. Parents who remember this book from when they were kids will enjoy sharing it in this digital version with their own kids.
