Touring Review (Winning Moves)

What It Is

Touring is a car-racing card game where players try to be the first to lay down enough Miles cards to reach 550 miles. The game can be played by two, three, four, or six players, and each player receives five cards. The remaining cards are placed in the center of the playing space to become the draw pile. On your turn, draw the top card from the draw pile and add it to your hand of cards. You must play a GO card before you can play any other cards, so if you have a GO card in your hand, play it face up in front of you. If you don't have a GO card, you must discard one of your cards by placing it face up next to the draw pile.

Once you have a GO card played, there are a variety of cards you can then play on subsequent turns, such as Miles cards and Freeway cards, which allow you to play the higher Miles cards. You can also play a Speed Limit card on an opponent's Freeway card to prevent him from playing the high Miles cards. Additional penalty cards that can be played on an opponent include Accident, Out of Gas, Burning Oil, Flat Tire, and Bad Brakes. These cards can cause you to lose Miles cards that you've played or prevent you from playing any more Miles cards until you're able to play a Tow Truck or Gas card in addition to another GO card. A Mechanic card prevents certain penalty cards from being played against you, so if you have one of those in your hand, make sure you hold onto it.

If you don't have a card to play on your turn, you must discard a card so that you always have five cards in your hand at a time. Play continues until one player lays down the required Miles cards to finish the race and win the game.

Touring comes with 110 cards and two scoring guide cards.

Is It Fun?

This is a fun fast-paced game with lots of different card options to change up the gameplay. While it's primarily about the luck of the draw, you do need to be strategic with the cards you've drawn to make sure you're playing enough Miles cards, not discarding any cards you might need, and keeping an eye on how your opponent is doing.

Who It’s For

Touring is for ages 7 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The rules are slightly different if you're playing with three or four individuals or three teams of two players. In this case, you only need 400 miles to win.
