Who Stole New Year’s Eve? Review (Holiday House)

Who Stole New Year’s Eve?
What It Is

The Chickadee Court Mystery series stars a group of 12-year-old sleuths from the same neighborhood. In this installment, the town's annual winter carnival is in jeopardy because someone stole 37 ice sculptures that are to be displayed. Alex and his friends, including a new girl named Eve, must come together to solve the mystery and restore the holiday celebration.

Is It Fun?

This is a very compelling story and it's a fun read. But, there are a lot of characters and they are introduced one after another which may make the first chapter confusing for some readers.

Who It’s For

The publisher recommends this book for ages 8 to 12, but there is a Santa Claus spoiler (hint, hint!) so the older age of the range is probably more appropriate.

What To Be Aware Of

Because of the Santa Claus "issue," parents should keep an eye on their child's backpack if it's a school library selection.
