Little Apps Tablet Review (VTech)

What It Is

The VTech Little Apps Tablet is a learning tablet that aids little ones' basic language and math skills. Press the green On button at the top of the device to get started. VTech's kid-friendly learning guide Cody The Smart Cub will appear on the screen to guide your child through the activities and features. Start engaging with the four different fun activities by moving the slider, which features Cody the Smart Cub, across the top of the device. In Photo Fun mode, the LCD screen will pretend to take a photo of a letter or number selected on the keyboard. A word will then appear that begins with that letter. Press a number and an image of 1–10 things will appear. Switch to My Piano Mode and press the piano keys to make Cody dance on the screen. In Ask Me Mode, interact with Cody by using the arrows on the tablet to answer his questions which range from "Do you like naps?" to "What animal makes this sound?" In Calendar Check Mode, scroll through the days of the week to see what activities Cody has planned.

Is It Fun?

This is a fun learning tablet in a design that we think will appeal to kids looking to get hold of their own mom or dad's actual tablet. And for little hands, this toy is easy to operate with big icons and a sturdy design for those accidental drops. Parents will also appreciate the volume features on this device and the ability to completely turn off the background music when needed.

Who It’s For

The VTech Little Apps Tablet is for ages 2–5.
