Transformers Prime Tales of the Beast Hunters Optimus Prime Review (Hasbro)

What It Is

Tales of the Beast Hunters is a toy line loosely based on the Transformers Prime animated series. There are 16 Deluxe and Voyager Class figures in this line and each comes with a part of the ongoing story printed on the instruction sheet. This story is broken into paragraphs with each figure having one paragraph. Collect all the figures and you will have the full story. Optimus is chapter 5.

Is It Fun?

This is one of the coolest Optimus Prime in robot forms that we have seen in a while. He comes with three weapons – 2 Eaglefire Missle Launchers and an energy sword and he has wings which give him an anime appearance. He also has a lot of great articulation and easily stands on his own because of his back foot supports. This makes him very poseable and easy to display, which is something that kids and collectors love.

Who It’s For

While this is an Optimus Prime that collectors of all ages are probably going to want, he is designed for kids ages 5 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

This Optimus is a level 2 or intermediate level Transformer to transform but it seems like every Transformer has been a level 2 lately, regardless of how easy or difficult they are to transform. It took us about 12 minutes to transform Optimus from robot to vehicle and about 4 minutes to transform from vehicle to robot mode.
