Jumbo Zip-It Review (Bananagrams)

What It Is

If you're a fan of Bananagrams' Zip-It, now there is a bigger way to play the high-speed crossword race game both inside and outside. Jumbo Zip-It features the same gameplay as the regular-sized version, but it comes with 24 two-inch wooden letter cubes. The larger carrying case still features the built-in scoring zippers. To play, each person takes 12 cubes and races to form his or her own crossword grid using any side of the cubes. The first player to use all of his cubes calls "Zip!" and marks a point by moving his own scoring zipper up the pouch. The first person to score 10 points calls "Zip it!" and wins the game. The game is for two players. The game also comes with suggestions for additional ways to play.

Is It Fun?

Jumbo Zip-It is designed to be played outside on the front lawn or at a picnic, but you can also play it inside at game nights or parties and even in the classroom. However, if you already own the original Zip-It, you can play that version in these same locations as long as you have a table and two players. But if you want to sit in the grass and play without losing your letter cubes or if you're just looking for a different way to play Zip-It, then you might enjoy Jumbo Zip-It.

Who It’s For

Jumbo Zip-It is for ages 5 and up.

Some players will find the big size cumbersome for traditional table play.
