Monster High Ghouls Rule Draculaura Review (Mattel)

What It Is

The characters from Monster High are starring in their first DVD movie, Monster High Ghouls Rule. Instead of staying home on Halloween, the Monster High gang is taking back the holiday and dressing in over-the-top costumes that commemorate their famous monster heritages. They call it "haunt couture."

The Ghouls Rule Draculaura doll is dressed in a pink, black, and white dress with large pink and black plastic wings and matching shoes. The doll also comes with a pink and black mask, a pink pumpkin bucket, a three-inch skeleton figure, and a hairbrush. The doll also has pink and black cobweb-inspired eye makeup.

Is It Fun?

As with all the other Monster High dolls, the new Ghouls Rule dolls have fabulous fashions and great detail. Monster High fans will like the new outfit for Draculaura and being able to play out the Halloween storyline from the new DVD.

Given the sophistication and elegance of the costumes, though, these dolls will appeal to collectors as well, and for kids they combine elements of play and display, which is what will appeal to girls who love the dolls but may not want to engage in younger fashion play.

As with all Monster High dolls, there's an element of humor in the storyline and the details of the clothes and accessories that really appeals to its fans.

Who It’s For

Monster High Ghouls Rule Draculaura is for ages 6 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Additional Ghouls Rule dolls include Frankie Stein, Cleo de Nile, and Clawdeen Wolf. Each is sold separately.

In addition to being gorgeous, these dolls and their storyline also have a message for kids: Everyone is different, and those differences should be celebrated. Delivering that message through the monster theme with style and wit has certainly contributed to the popularity of Monster High.
