Imaginext Castle Dragon Review (Fisher-Price)

What It Is

With the Imaginext Castle Dragon, kids enter a world of medieval adventure and get to control the roaring dragon. Lift the dragon off the ground and its wings will automatically expand. Then use the handle to make the wings go up and down as if the dragon was really flying. Squeeze the handle on the dragon's back, and the dragon will lunge forward and "eat" an Imaginext figure when you release the handle. Squeeze the handle again to spit out the figure. Then squeeze the handle again to hear the dragon roar. The Castle Dragon also comes with a 14-minute DVD called Hassle with the Castle. The Castle Dragon can be used with the Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle, which is sold separately, and recognizes and interacts with the castle playset.

Is It Fun?

Preschoolers will have a great time pretending to fly this dragon and making it "eat" anything that gets in its path: marbles, balls, action figures, sister's doll accessories. Like all items in this line, the fun is in the imagining, and the level of open-ended, narrative-based play that it will inspire. The roaring sounds help bring the dragon to life as kids "fly off" with the dragon into their imaginations.

Who It’s For

The Imaginext Castle Dragon is for ages 3–8.
