Barbie Puppy Play Park Review (Mattel)

Barbie Puppy Play Park
What It Is

With the Barbie Puppy Play Park, a clap of Barbie's hands sends her two dogs in motion, sliding down the slide and pushing around a ball in the play park. Just press the button on Barbie's back, and the doll's hands move together in a clap. When the button is pushed, it also activates a "clapping" sound, and the sound is what activates the dogs. As you might expect, kids can also clap their hands to activate the dogs.

Press the button on the front of the big dog to turn it on. (Press it again to turn it off.) When they register a clapping sound, the dogs will move around for about five seconds. The sound activates the big dog, but the small dog cannot move on its own. To have both dogs moving, you can attach the two dogs via clips underneath them either side by side or with the big dog in front and the small dog in back.

Is It Fun?

Barbie fans will like the "magic" of making the dogs move. Whether or not girls have dogs in their home, this cute playset lets girls pretend to take care of and play with dogs along with Barbie.

The play park itself is kind of small, so the dogs don't have far to go until they hit an obstacle. The dogs do not have the ability to bounce off an obstacle and turn around, so kids will frequently be picking up the dogs and turning them around. It might be more fun to play with the dogs outside of the play park.

Who It’s For

The Barbie Puppy Play Park is for ages 3 and up.
