The Dark Knight Rises QuickTek Batman Action Figures Review (Mattel)

The Dark Knight Rises QuickTek Batman Action Figures
What It Is

For the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, Mattel is releasing a variety of different action-packed Batman action figures. Each 4.5-inch figure uses what the company is calling "QuickTek" technology to transform the figure and deploy different battle weapons. (But it's really a cleverly designed mechanism that's easy for little kids to work.) Simply slide the included case over the action figure, press down on the top button, and lift up the case to reveal Batman in specialized accessories. Each figure has five moving parts: head, arms, and knees.

The Deluxe Air Attack Batman gives Batman wings. The Deluxe Drill Cannon Batman outfits the action figure with a drill cannon and armor. Other figures include Flight Strike Batman, Saw Strike Batman, Cyber Glider Batman, Combat Claw Batman, Missile Armor Batman, and Tank Blaster Batman. Each is sold separately.

Is It Fun?

With these new Batman action figures, kids can help the Caped Crusader suit up to battle the bad guys. The gadgets and armor have great detail (which will also appeal to adult fans and collectors) and can be used on any of the QuickTek action figures. It's really easy for kids to change an ordinary Batman action figure into a battle-ready one. These action figures will engage Batman fans in all kinds of imaginative, narrative-based play.
