Fall Party Recipe: Trail Mix Caramel Apples

TMCAFun to make and fun to eat! Tie leaf cut-outs with guests’ names to the sticks and arrange on table as place cards. The apples make a festive parting gift or great dessert idea. They are also the perfect decoration for your family’s Thanksgiving table. Simply adjust the recipe accordingly for the number of guests around your Thanksgiving table.

What You’ll Need:
5 or 6 apples
5 or 6 craft sticks or sturdy twigs
2 cups Archer Farms Handful of Everything Trail Mix*
About 12 oz. caramels, unwrapped
1 tbsp. water
Waxed paper

1. Insert sticks into centers of apples. Coarsely chop trail mix and place in medium bowl.

2. Combine caramels and water in medium saucepan. Cook on medium heat, stirring frequently, until caramels melt and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and let stand 1 minute.

3. Dip apples into caramel, tilting pan as needed. Let excess caramel drip from apples. Dip bottoms in trail mix.

4. Stand apples on waxed paper until mostly cool. Use clean hands to further press trail mix onto apples.

Let stand until caramel is set.

Makes 5 or 6 caramel apples
