Box Office, Captain America Still on Top

It’s been three weeks since Captain America: The Winter Soldier opened in theaters, and the first Avenger is holding steady to the first position on the box office list. In it’s third weekend, Captain America took in another $26.6 million. The movie has now earned $201.5 million, and is the second biggest blockbuster of 2014 (so far). The #1 spot still belongs to The LEGO Movie, and it’s $252.3 million take. The Captain should continue to perform well for the next two weeks until The Amazing Spider-Man 2 arrives.

Rio 2 had another strong weekend with $22.5 million and the #2 spot on the list. The animated sequel has now earned $75.4 million, which is just under the first Rio’s ten-day tally of $80.8 million.

TTPM has been reviewing the toys for both movies. You can see the reviews for Captain America here and Rio 2 here.
