The Angry Birds have been to space in Rovio’s Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars, so I guess it makes sense that they now have an interactive exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center…doesn’t it?

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has partnered with Rovio Entertainment to bring the Angry Birds game to life in the new, Angry Birds Space Encounter attraction.

The first “comprehensive, interactive Angry Birds attraction in the United States” is designed for people of all ages and features six interactive stations that will invite visitors to engage with the world of Angry Birds Space. The stations will will let people create their own Angry Bird, play the app game using mini Angry Birds launched in a slingshot, travel through a mirror maze and more.

Kids (and adults) will also be learning while having fun as Bill Moore, chief operating officer of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, explained in the official press release;

“Concepts of human space exploration are incorporated into Angry Birds Space Encounter, reflecting Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex’s ongoing mission to encourage young people in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields of study,” said Moore. “Kids will love interacting with their favorite Angry Birds Space characters, while parents will appreciate that their children are enjoying the learning experience.”

This attraction is a bit of a head-scratcher for me but I guess if it get’s kids interested in science and they are learning something then it’s a good thing.

The Angry Birds Space Encounter attraction is open now and for the next 18 months. It is located at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Orsino, FL (a short drive from Orlando, FL). For more information, visit www.kennedyspacecenter.com/angrybirds
