The Gear Ball, created by Meffert's and distributed by Recent Toys, is a brain-teasing puzzle ball that takes the Rubik's Cube to a new level. It's made up of a set of interconnecting gears that fit together to form the shape of a ball. Like a Rubik's Cube, the objective is to twist and turn the gears until you're left with six solid faces of color on the ball. With each turn you make there will be a slight shift in the colors and their formation around the ball.
You can spend hours trying to solve this puzzle and not even come close to solving it-and that's the fun of it. It puts an interesting twist on the classic twist-and-turn style puzzle. The ball's gears also make this toy extremely tactile and engaging. So even though the object of the game might be too advanced for younger kids to achieve, we still think it can also provide a fun way to strengthen your motor skills.
The Gear Ball is for ages 7 and up.
This is the kind of puzzle that you can spend days trying to solve so have patience.
