Clifford the Big Red Dog Food Science Review (The Young Scientists Club)

Clifford the Big Red Dog Food Science
What It Is

Clifford the Big Red Dog Food Science is a science kit that lets young Clifford fans feel like real scientists as they perform different experiments with the guidance of Clifford and Emily Elizabeth. The kit includes a color instruction manual, a funnel, a measuring cup, four plastic bags, a lab tray, a piece of tissue paper, three test tubes, a clothespin, five pieces of chromatography paper, two sheets of regular paper, three rock candy sticks, a measuring spoon, a cup with lid, and a pipette. The kit does not include food-related items, but most of the required food ingredients are things you probably already have in your kitchen: salt, vinegar, and baking soda, for instance. There are 14 experiments to do, including making ice cream in a bag, exploding a marshmallow, making pasta dance, and creating chocolate slime.

Is It Fun?

This is a cute hands-on science kit designed to get young kids interested in science. It encourages curiosity in a way that is engaging and rewarding for kids. We think most kids will like being able to eat some of their experiments, too.

Who It’s For

Clifford the Big Red Dog Food Science is for ages 3 and up. Adult supervision, and in some cases participation, is recommended.
