Cookie Jam Review (SGN)

Cookie Jam
What It Is

Cookie Jam is a mobile matching game that requires players to line up three or more of the same item to clear those items. The game-play is similar to Candy Crush Saga, but Cookie Jam adds some creative twists that make it stand out and fun to play.

Everything has a dessert-theme to it and some levels have pesky gingerbread men that are trying to reach the top of the board to end your game. Other levels have rats moving around the board eating your items.

Is It Fun?

Don't be fooled by the early levels, Cookie Jam is challenging and gets more difficult the further you progress in the game. Successfully completing a level is rewarding, which is part of the fun of games like this. Another reason that this game is fun is the Power Ups. You have a limited supply of Power Ups so deciding when to use them adds a strategy element to the game.

Who It’s For

Cookie Jam is rated 4 and up. This is one of those games that will appeal to adults as much as (maybe even more than) it does kids.

What To Be Aware Of

The game starts you off with 50 coins, which can be used to purchase additional Power Ups and lives. Once those coins are gone, you can buy more for real money, but you don't have to spend money to progress through the game.

You have a limited number of lives that get used each time you fail to pass a level. Those lives are replenished in about 20 minutes or you can ask Facebook friends to send you an extra life. You will need 50 coins or three friends to unlock levels 61 to 75 then another 50 or three friends at level 76.

Cookie Jam is currently available for iOS devices and coming soon for Android and Facebook.
