Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z Review (Bandai Namco Games)

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z
What It Is

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, from Bandai Namco Games is a new game in the Dragon Ball Z franchise. The game is a mission-based, battling game for one player.

Players head out on story-based missions, where they will fight waves of enemies in giant, open environments. As the game progresses, new playable characters are unlocked, and all characters have simple controls that unleash some really awesome moves. That includes flying and the ability to lock onto an enemy and dash into them from the sky.

Is It Fun?

This is a great-looking game with beautiful background graphics and lots of interaction with items in the environments. The action is fast but thanks to the intuitive and simple control system, players get to enjoy the battles without spending too much time trying to perform cool-looking moves.

Who It’s For

The game is rated T for Teen because of the cartoon violence and mild language. There is no blood or gore and we didn't notice any inappropriate language in the game. The game-play itself, however, might be a little too difficult for most kids under the age of 12.

What To Be Aware Of

In addition to the offline single player game, there is also an online multiplayer mode that allows up to eight people to play together.

We played the Xbox 360 version for this review, but it is also available for PS 3 and Vita.
