Call & Chat Learning Phone Review (VTech)

Call & Chat Learning Phone
What It Is

For those familiar with VTech's Touch & Swipe Baby Phone, this new VTech Call & Chat Learning Phone offers even more educational features to interact with preschoolers. When you turn on the power button you'll be greeted by a talking parrot who is really repetitive just like a real parrot. The parrot will ask you to, "Say Something," talk to you, and ask questions. To go back to this feature at any time press the Let's Chat button, which is voice-activated and looks like a microphone at the bottom of the phone. Press the call button to pretend to "leave a message." The phone also features character buttons, activity buttons, as well as traditional numerical buttons. The character buttons help kids memorize important phone numbers. You can change the pre-programmed numbers for each person, such as dad or mom, with your own numbers. Choose from one of the five learning activities to practice your ABCs and beginner counting skills, and then test your skills. The Solar Power activity button also teaches kids a bit about solar and wind power. Have your child blow into the phone to pretend to blow away the clouds to let the sunshine down and "charge" the device or blow into the phone to turn the windmill to "power" the phone. The phone also features a time-telling analog clock, a music game, a photo activity, and the ability to program a fake ringtone. Confirm the new ringtone by pressing the call button.

Is It Fun?

This phone has a lot of fun and educational features, providing kids with plenty of different ways to interact each time they play. Parents will also appreciate the sturdy design made for plenty of accidental drops during play and its automatic shut-off feature, which will power down after a few minutes of inactivity.
