Barbie Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Doll Review (Mattel)

Barbie Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Doll
What It Is

This is the Barbie you've probably been hearing about—at least if you're an adult. It's the special, limited-edition Barbie designed for the 50th Anniversary of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. Using the hashtag "unapologetic," Barbie is as beautiful as ever in an updated version of the swimsuit worn by the original teenage fashion model in 1959. Redesigned with a contemporary look, the doll comes with a stand.

Is It Fun?

This was sold exclusively at Target, and it's been a huge hit. You may end up having to try to find it on eBay or another auction site, and you'll probably pay a bit more than the original $19.99 suggested retail, but for the serious collector, it's worth it.

Who It’s For

This is part of the Barbie Black Label Collection, and it's for ages 6 and up, although it will most likely appeal to adult Barbie collectors.

What To Be Aware Of

We took our doll out of the box, but because this is a collector's item, some people may want to keep it in the box.
