The LEGO Movie Video Game Review (Warner Bros Interactive)

The LEGO Movie Video Game
What It Is

The LEGO Movie Video Game from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is the video game for The LEGO Movie. The game's story follows the action and scenes from the movie, and the game play follows the humorous play pattern of other popular LEGO video games, including the Harry Potter series, Batman, and Marvel games. Kids will play through the game in a series of missions and tasks.

Throughout the game, new playable characters are unlocked and collected. There are more than 90 characters from the movie including the movie's hero, Emmet along with Batman, Wyldstyle, the Green Ninja, Gandalf, and even Cleopatra.

Is It Fun?

The LEGO Movie Video Game gives fans of the movie another way to bring the fun, story, and action from the popular movie into their home.

The game features a new building feature where players have to find and use LEGO instruction pages to build items. The Instruction pages look just like real world LEGO toy instructions and we think LEGO builders and fans of the movie are really going to love this. It's a feature that we hope makes its way into future LEGO video games.

Who It’s For

The game is rated E10+ but fans of the movie as young as 7 should be able to play the game on their own.

What To Be Aware Of

Like other LEGO video games, this game has a drop-in/drop-out co-op play feature that allows a second player to join and leave the game at any point. We played the Xbox 360 edition of the game for this review. However, it is available for Nintendo 3DS; Wii U; and PlayStation 3, 4, and Vita. It's also available for Xbox One and PC.
