Operation Star Wars Edition Review (Hasbro)

Operation Star Wars Edition
What It Is

The classic game of Operation is now part of a galaxy far, far away with Operation Stars Wars Edition. The game comes with a gameboard featuring C-3PO and R2-D2, tweezers, 24 cards, 12 plastic defective droid parts, galactic credits, and a storage drawer. On your turn, draw the top Droid Doctor card and use the tweezers to remove the part on the card. Parts include Bad Motivator, Stolen Death Star Plans, Robotic Worry Wart, Rusty Restraining Bolt, Hiccuping Hologram, Lodged Lightsaber, and more. If you touch the metal sides around the defective part, R2-D2's dome will light up and you'll hear R2-D2 beeping sound effects. If you remove the part without setting off the light and sound, you take the appropriate amount of galactic credits from the banker. If you set off the light and sound, your turn is over. If another player has a Droid Specialist card, he can try to remove that same part for twice the payment. The game ends when all 12 defective droid parts have been removed. The player with the most credits wins. All of the defective droid parts can be stored in the storage drawer when the game is over.

Is It Fun?

This combines the fun of classic Operation with favorite Star Wars characters. Star Wars fans will like the themed defective parts to remove and hearing R2-D2 beep (instead of the original buzz) when the tweezers touch the metal parts.
