Whac-a-Mole Treasure Game Review (Mattel)

Whac-a-Mole Treasure Game
What It Is

Whac-a-Mole Treasure Game is a racetrack game featuring the Whac-a-Mole characters. The game comes with four mole playing pieces, a colored die, a game board, and a mallet. Players take turns rolling the die and moving their mole to the next space on the board that matches the color rolled. If you land on a space with a mallet icon on it, you get to whack one of your opponent's moles and watch its head go down. Move that mole either back to start or back to the nearest safety cavern on the board. (If your mole has been whacked, you can restore your mole's head to its proper position by pressing on the mole's tail.) There are three safety caverns on the board, and if your mole is in a safety cavern, the mole can't be whacked. Players continue moving around the board until one player reaches the jewel-filled treasure cave first. That player also gets to use the mallet to whack all the other moles on the board. Whac-a-Mole Treasure Game is for two to four players.

Is It Fun?

This is a very easy-to-play game, which we think is important in a preschool game. You can take the pieces out of the box and start playing this game within a minute. Using the mallet helps kids with fine motor skills, and moving around the board helps kids with color matching.

Who It’s For

Whac-a-Mole Treasure Game is for ages 3 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Even though the mallet is soft, it's probably best to discourage kids from hitting each other with it.
