OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

The Cry Babies are back with more magic that's inspired by iconic fairytale stories and fun dress-up play. There are two ways to collect the Storyland Cry Babies: through the Dress Me Up series and the Story House series.

Series Dress Me Up dolls come packaged in a tear drop-shaped wardrobe with glitter details. When you open it up, you'll reveal a Cry Babies Magic Tears doll with eight surprise accessories. The doll will be wearing traditional Cry Babies animal pjs, but now you can change up the doll's look through an extra stylish outfit. Check out how she looks in the mirror. Decorate the wardrobe or whatever you want with the included stickers. And when you fill the baby bottle with water and feed your doll, the doll will cry tears with a squeeze of its belly. There are 12 dolls to collect, plus one rare doll, and rare accessories.

For even more play, the Story House dolls come packaged in little houses. Open it with the rainbow key and discover 10 surprises. There's a doll, a fairytale-inspired outfit, and a pet. Fairytales include The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, and more. Fill the baby bottle with water and feed your doll to make it cry tears when you squeeze its belly. If those tears fall on the storybook, a picture will be revealed. Then decorate the house with the stickers. There are six dolls to collect in this series, plus one rare doll, and rare accessories.

Is It Fun?

Cry Babies fans will really like this new way to unbox and play with the dolls. They still have the same fun crying feature, but the addition of outfits adds more creative play. We like that the containers double as play and storage spaces and that kids can mix and match the fashions between all the dolls they collect.

Who It’s For

Cry Babies Magic Tears Storyland dolls are for ages 3 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The doll's head needs to be pretty full of water to make the "crying" happen.

There is a drain on the doll's heads so you can empty the water when playtime is over.
