Play-Doh meets construction play in the new line of Play-Doh Builder toys. Use Play-Doh and molds to create an Ice Cream Stand or a Treehouse. Both sets, sold separately, come with everything you need to get creative and play out different storylines.
The Ice Cream Stand Kit includes eight cans of Play-Doh in a variety of colors, one miniature figure, two inner structure pieces, an awning, a menu sign, a scoop, a table, a chair, a cherry decoration, a roller, and a knife. Start by filling a structure mold with Play-Doh, and then adding a waffle cone texture with the other mold. Additional molds let you add doors, windows, and other candy-themed decor. Then when you're ready, pop the Play-Doh out of the mold and wrap it around the purple hexagon shape. Now you've got the base for your ice cream stand. Fill the star mold with Play-Doh, pop the Play-Doh out of the mold, and wrap it around the roof piece to create a swirly scoop for the ice cream stand's top. You can even mold chocolate sauce and place a cherry on top. Then set up a play scene for the little girl figure and mold up all sorts of mini Play-Doh sweet treats for her.
The Treehouse Kit includes two miniature figures, a tree trunk base, a ladder, a swing, two treehouse molds, a roof, four detail stampers, two chairs, two flower boxes, a sign, a roller, a telescope, a knife, and seven cans of Play-Doh in a variety of colors. Fill the mold with Play-Doh, add a wood plank texture with another mold, and decorate with molded doors and windows. Then fold the Play-Doh around the base to create the bottom of your treehouse. The roof mold creates a shingled roof for your treehouse. The trunk base is made of plastic, and you can attach the swing, slide, and ladder to it. Then place the Play-Doh treehouse on top and set up all sorts of imaginative stories for the boy and girl figures.
Even though this is kind of a different way to build with Play-Doh, we do like that there are traditional Play-Doh play patterns incorporated into these sets. For instance, the ice cream stand still gives kids the opportunity to make Play-Doh food. Even though the picture instructions show one way to build, kids are welcome to rebuild a different way each time they play. Kids who like playing with Play-Doh will enjoy molding their own playsets out of this classic compound.
