PJ Masks Air Jet, Romeo's Flying Factory Playset, and 2 in 1 Mobile HQ Review (Just Play)

PJ Masks Air Jet, Romeo's Flying Factory Playset, and 2 in 1 Mobile HQ
What It Is

If your preschooler bingewatched every episode of PJ Masks during this pandemic, then all the new PJ Masks toys from Just Play will be a welcome addition to your toy box.

The PJ Masks Air Jet comes with an exclusive Catboy figure that can ride in the cockpit to fly to the rescue. Both the jet and Catboy feature special Turbo Blast designs as seen in the show, and lights and sounds help bring the action-packed adventures to life. With just the press of a button, the jet's wings pop out so it's ready to fly, and if you press another button, you can launch the projectile to take down the nighttime villains. A built-in handle makes it easy for little kids to hold the jet and fly it around or kids can roll it around on its wheels.

Play out the good versus evil battles from the show with the PJ Masks Romeo's Flying Factory Playset. It comes with both Catboy and Romeo figures that are both poseable. Roll the wheeled factory into action, and turn the smokestack to reveal Romeo hiding in his secret lair. Open the side panel to reveal a control panel that plays lights, sounds, and phrases with the push of a button. It even comes with two of Romeo's greatest inventions: the Squashatron and the Sniff-O-Whiff. Romeo can launch pretend lasers to stop the PJ Masks from thwarting his plans yet again, or use the working crane to pick up and capture Catboy. When Romeo needs to make a quick get-away, just pull back on the right wing to launch Romeo and his get-away vehicle.

The 2 in 1 Mobile HQ gives kids a headquarters playset and vehicle in one. This three-foot tall playset goes from Seeker to HQ mode by holding the switch in the unlock position while lifting up on the top handle. In HQ mode, the playset has opening side doors that reveal a battery-operated control center. Press the button for sound effects, phrases, and lights. The playset includes a poseable Catboy figure and a Cat-Car. Use the kid-powered elevator to send the Cat-Car up and down in headquarters, and unlock three different ramps so that Catboy can easily drive off to the rescue. To go back to Seeker mode, hold the switch in the unlock position, grab the handle, and fold it down. With space for holding three vehicles, sold separately, now all the PJ Masks can drive together to save the day.

Is It Fun?

All of these playsets will be a great way to inspire imaginative play for PJ Masks fans. They all come with Catboy, which is kind of disappointing for kids who like some of the other superhero characters, but they all have pretty cool features that bring the action from the TV show to life. The Air Jet has lights and sound effects, and is easy for small hands to hold and pretend to fly. Romeo's Flying Factory includes two action figures, a vehicle launcher, a projectile launcher, and lights and Romeo phrases. And the Mobile HQ goes from headquarters to seeker and back, with some adult assistance for the youngest kids. It comes with a Catboy and Cat-Car for play right out of the box, and this big playset can accommodate the figures and cars for all three PJ Masks, if you have them.

Who It’s For

The PJ Masks toys are for ages 3 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The PJ Masks Air Jet requires three AAA batteries for the in-store try-me features. We recommend replacing them before you play for best results.

On the Air Jet, the button to activate the lights, sounds, and wings seems like it's in a good location - for an adult hand to press while holding the handle. For smaller hands, it's tricky to push the button just right.

Romeo's Flying Factory includes three button cell batteries for the in-store try-me features. You might want to replace them before you play.

You need to make sure Romeo's get-away vehicle is pushed all the way back inside the playset, but even so, the launching function isn't very powerful.

Assembly on the 2 in 1 Mobile HQ playset was pretty easy to do, but pay attention to the sticker placement.

The 2 in 1 Mobile HQ requires two AAA batteries.
