OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Turn traditional games on their head with The #UpsideDownChallenge Game. This game flips your world upside down when you put on the special game goggles. Even the simplest task, such as writing the word "fun", becomes a challenge. The object of the game is to earn points by winning challenges while wearing the goggles. The first player to earn five points wins the game.

To play, you'll draw a card from the deck to reveal that round's challenge, such as Draw a Tree. Each player takes a turn attempting to complete the challenge within the amount of time shown on the card, which could be anywhere from five to 60 seconds. Depending on what the challenge is, players may win or lose points. So, for instance, with drawing the tree, the winner is whoever drew the best tree. But if the challenge is to Fist Bump the Player to Your Left, you lose a point if you don't do it on the first try.

For even more fun, share your challenge successes and fails on social media using the hashtag #upsidedownchallenge. And you can check out what other players have done, too.

Is It Fun?

This game is crazy fun, and it's hilarious to watch another player try to complete the task. But we'll see who's still laughing once it's your turn to tackle the challenge. Looking through the goggles is the weirdest thing. We're not even sure if it's possible to get used to looking at the world from that upside down view. But you'll definitely want to keep playing and trying with this game.

Who It’s For

The game is for two to six players ages 8 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The game includes a pair of Upside Down Goggles, a drawing pad, 25 challenge cards, and five "create your own challenge" cards.

It's recommended to set a smartphone timer to keep track of the time limits of each challenge.

The only thing that could be a challenge is for players who wear glasses. If you can't see anything without your corrective lenses, you're really not going to be able to see anything through the goggles, and that can be frustrating and put you at a disadvantage.
