OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Check out The ALPHA, a game that determines the Survival of The Fittest and EXCHANGE, a game of Financial survival. Two great games for serious game enthusiasts. Designed for ages 10 and up. Each game takes about 40 minutes to complete. Each game takes concentration in learning how to play but again, each has an educational aspect and well as a fun competitive one. In the Alpha, players control a wolf pack. Players must tap into their own strategy and psychology as they decide to fight or share food to live. Leading their wolves on a search for food in 4 stages of the hunt. Stalking, Chasing, Conflict, and Advancement. To STALK players send their wolves to hunt in various regions of the forest and outnumber rival packs to become dominant in the area. The CHASE involves Rolling the dice for the region to determine the success of the hunt. The RESOLVE begins when players enter the conflict and decide whether to fight or share food with other packs in the region. Players ADVANCE when a wolf is on the food track to indicate the amount of food secured during the hunt. At the end of 5 weeks (or in this case, rounds), the wolf pack with the most food will be declared The Alpha. ALPHA comes with 36 Beta Wolves, 6 Alpha Pairs, 11 Region Tiles, 9 Dice, 6 Conflict Tokens, 6 Den Boards, 1 Food Track, 1 Weeks Left Token, 1 Alpha Token, and 1 Instruction Booklet. In Exchange, players become securities traders, competing for the highest net worth on Wall Street. Almost like the wolves in ALPHA, players will carefully plan their strategies over five rounds, trying to cash in big in a constantly changing market! This game lasts a total of 5 rounds and each round consists of 3 phases. Phase 1, players select a security; Phase 2: Players Buy or Sell; Phase 3: Players must try and Influence the Market. The only thing harder than trying to predict the market is anticipating the actions of the other players sitting at the table with you. In the end, the player who corners the market and has the highest net-worth will win the game. Exchange is designed for 3 to 6 players. Inside the game box are 6 Ledger Boards, 1 Market value board, 215 Cards which include cash amount cards, Phase cards marked as 1,2, or 3, Founder Cards, & Market forces, 19 Folders which also are marked 1,2, & 3 as well as 1 Lobbyist, 4 tokens including,1 Bank token, 1 Insurance Token, 1 Bonds token, and the token for marking each and instructions.
