OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Play at the beach and keep plastic out of the ocean with the Green Toys OceanBound Tide Pool Set. This is a little different from the original Tide Pool Set because it's made with recycled OceanBound Plastic. That means it's made from plastic at risk of entering the ocean in global communities that lack recycling infrastructure. OceanBound Plastic can be recycled again just like traditional plastic. And recovering plastic before it enters the ocean helps to reduce ocean pollution and allows underwater ecosystems to thrive. More information about OceanBound Plastic can be found on the packaging.

So you've read what this toy does; now what does it come with? It's a seven-piece set that includes a storage bag, a scallop, an abalone, a starfish, a jellyfish, a snail, and a squid. Each shell pours differently when you scoop up water. And to keep things dry and reduce the amount of sand you take home with you, the storage bag has holes in its starfish-patterned bottom. All of the pieces are dishwasher-safe, and can be used at home in your sandbox or bathtub, too.

Is It Fun?

The Tide Pool Set is ideal for the beach or bath. It allows kids to explore the different shapes and textures of each piece while working their fine motor skills through scooping and pouring. Eco-conscious parents will like that the pieces are made of recycled plastic and don't contain BPA, phthalates, or PVC. So if you've got a little one who likes to put everything in his mouth, you can rest easy when he plays and chews on this toy. This is a fun and eco-friendly addition to bathtime or your next vacation.
