BM100 Wireless Video Baby Monitor Review (Annke)

BM100 Wireless Video Baby Monitor
What It Is

One of the things that concerns many parents about video baby monitors is their ability to be hacked. That's why Annke introduces its BM100 Wireless Video Baby Monitor. Parents can keep tabs on their babies without connecting to wifi.

The BM100 comes with a video camera and LCD monitor that communicate with each other via a proprietary wifi signal, without connecting to your router. The connection distance can reach up to 1,000 feet in open areas, ensuring that parents can check on their baby from anywhere in the house.

What also helps parents keep an eye on their baby is the 350-degree pan and 55-degree tilt, plus two times digital zoom. And IR Night Vision means you can see your baby up to 16 feet even in complete darkness. Some other useful features include Two-Way Audio Talk, allowing parents to soothe or talk to baby without entering the room, and six built-in lullabies to help soothe a child to sleep. All of this is controlled using the parent unit, which has a 4.3-inch LCD screen.

The parent unit contains a rechargeable battery that operates up to 10 hours on a full charge.

Parents can also control alerts and reminders from the parent unit, such as a temperature alarm to make sure baby's room isn't too hot or too cold and a sound detection alarm so you'll know when baby cries or has made unusual sounds. And you can also set up feeding reminders using the alarm clock feature so you always know when it's time for baby to eat next.

Why Is It Useful?

This baby monitor provides peace of mind to parents in two ways: allowing them to keep an eye on baby and preventing hacking. However, the picture on the parent unit screen wasn't as good as other baby monitors we've used, and some of the functions were not intuitive, such as adjusting the volume. We do like that it has built-in lullabies, two-way talk, and a long battery life.

Who It’s For

The BM100 video baby monitor is for parents to use as they keep an eye on their babies and young children.

What To Be Aware Of

Because this doesn't use wifi, there's also no video storage and no compatible smartphone app to protect your camera from hackers.

The BM100 comes with an LCD monitor, a video camera, two USB power cables, two power adapters, a mounting bracket, a bag of screws for the bracket, a user manual, and a reset pin.

Additional cameras are not available at this time.

This uses a 24-hour clock, so keep that in mind when setting up the date and time.
