Uni the Unicorn Puzzles Review (New York Puzzle Company)

Uni the Unicorn Puzzles
What It Is

It's no puzzle why kids love Amy Krouse Rosenthal's Uni the Unicorn book series: a magical story about friendship and unicorns, and beautiful illustrations from Brigette Barrager. Now those illustrations are available in a series of puzzles from New York Puzzle Company. Available in 20-piece, 48-piece, 60-piece, 100-piece, and 500-piece puzzles, fans of the books will love seeing their favorite unicorn in familiar settings, frolicking in the woods or sliding down a rainbow.

The Forest Creatures, Uni the Unicorn, and Friends Forever puzzles are mini puzzles with 20 pieces each. In Forest Creatures, Uni and the little girl feed apples to the woodland creatures. In Uni the Unicorn, kids will see the unicorn surrounded by flowers. And Friends Forever features Uni and the little girl on a rainbow. When complete, these puzzles measure six inches by nine inches. These puzzles are for ages 4 and up.

Reading Time is a 48-piece puzzle with extra large pieces for making a 24-inch by 18-inch puzzle. This puzzle, which features Uni reading books, is for ages 4 and up.

Rainbow Slide and Best Friends are 60-piece puzzles for ages 4 and up. Rainbow Slide features Uni and the little girl sliding down a rainbow, while Best Friends shows Uni and the little girl out for a ride together. When complete, both puzzles measure 19 inches by 13 inches.

First Sleepover and Unicorn Frolic, both 100-piece puzzles, are for ages 5 and up. First Sleepover depicts Uni and her friends having a sleepover. And in Unicorn Frolic, Uni and the little girl play in a field of flowers. These puzzles measure 13 inches by 19 inches when complete.

Running in the Rain is a 500-piece puzzle of Uni and the little girl enjoying a rainy day prancing through the flowers. This puzzle, which is for ages 8 and up, measures 24 inches by 18 inches when complete.

All of the puzzle pieces have a linen-style finish to prevent glare.

Is It Fun?

Fans of the Uni the Unicorn books will really enjoy being able to puzzle together familiar images from the book series. These puzzles would also be a great way to introduce both puzzling and Uni the Unicorn to young puzzlers and readers. The artwork, as it is in the books, is stunning. While these puzzles are all small enough to put together and take apart to do again later, you might even want to frame the larger puzzles for display in a child's bedroom.
