OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Go on an expedition to discover the cutest monsters you'll ever meet. The new I Dig Monsters! toy line features collectible monsters hidden inside wet and slimy popsicles that you have to dig through. Each monster is called a Monji, and there are 28 in the first series. Collect them in two ways: Popsicle Packs and Jumbo Popsicles. Each is sold separately.

Each Popsicle Pack includes one Monji figure hidden inside a water-wax popsicle. The popsicle sticks actually turn into tools. Which two tools will you get? Use the tools to slice, grate, and peel away the popsicle until you find the Monji. The collector's guide will show you which character you got and that character's rarity. But the fun doesn't stop there. Inside the popsicle you'll also discover two collectible shape cutters for extra play with the slimy popsicle. There are six different shapes to collect. And you can dunk your Monji into ice cold water for a color-change reveal.

The Jumbo Popsicle gives kids an even bigger unboxing adventure. Inside this giant popsicle is either a purple or pink Monji plush. The purple one is named Treats, and the pink one is named Goodie. They're so soft! Open up their mouth pouch to reveal a popsicle pack and two tools for slicing, grating, and peeling open the popsicle. There's one exclusive Monji and two shape cutters inside, plus a collector's guide.

Is It Fun?

These little monsters are so adorable, and kids will love the hands-on unboxing experience. The waxy popsicles remind us of what Moose did with the volcanoes in its Treasure X Fire vs. Ice line, but I Dig Monsters is a little girlier. And did we mention that it's adorable? The giant Monjis are super soft and fun to hug, plus you can store your mini Monji collection in their bellies. These toys have a cool feel, a cool look, and a very cool color-change surprise.

Who It’s For

I Dig Monsters! is for ages 5 and up. Kids who like unboxing and playing with tactile toys, such as slime, will really like the process of discovering their Monji.

What To Be Aware Of

Don't throw out the popsicle until you've uncovered all the hidden pieces: Monji and two shape cutters.
