OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

The hunt for treasure continues with the new Treasure X Fire vs. Ice series. There are Hunters and Extinct Beasts to collect in this line, as well as real gold-dipped treasure. No matter what you're hunting for, there are 10 levels of adventure to discovering what's inside the volcano.

The Fire vs. Ice Hunters pack includes a volcano that's going to erupt with either orange or white "lava" when you add water. These colors will help you determine if your hunter is fire or ice. Then, dig through to find the hidden key. What does the key unlock? Take the excavator tool and start carving away at the orange or blue gel underneath the volcano. You'll find a Hunter, a weapon, and a staff. Then, you can crack open the meteor with the key to reveal the hidden treasure. There are 18 Treasure Hunters to collect and 10 different treasures. One in 18 packs will contain the real gold-dipped treasure.

The Fire vs. Ice Extinct Beasts packs work much the same way, with a volcano that you add water to to erupt either white or orange "lava" that again denotes whether you're getting a beast from the fire category or the ice category. Dig out the key, use the excavator tool to carve out the beast from the orange or blue gel, unlock the meteor with the key, and reveal the hidden treasure. There are six large beasts to collect and one in 12 packs contains real gold-dipped treasure.

Is It Fun?

We think kids will like the unboxing experience of Treasure X Fire vs. Ice because there are so many levels to it. Once the unboxing is done, there's still a lot of play with the figures and accessories. Kids can take their hunters and beasts on all sorts of imaginative treasure-seeking adventures. And, of course, kids who are fans of the original Treasure X toys will really like adding even more figures and accessories to their collection.

Who It’s For

What To Be Aware Of
