Garden View Kitchen Review (Simplay3)

Garden View Kitchen
What It Is

Now kids can have their very own kitchen, but parents don't have to sacrifice the space with the Garden View Kitchen. This 30-piece cooking and dining playset still has plenty of room for multiple children to play together, but its slimmer design and ability to fold up means you won't need as much space in the playroom.

It includes all the utensils and play tools kids could need for their pretend cooking, plus hooks for hanging some of the tools from the bar over the sink. Next to the sink is a stovetop with a temperature dial that makes a clicking sound when turned. Underneath that is a microwave with opening door, and underneath that is a doggy door so that a stuffed animal, sold separately, can eat up any scrap food. The playset also has a pretend oven with opening door and two turning and clicking knobs. Next to that is an opening fridge.

With the two side panels extended, there's space for kids to pretend to chop vegetables or barbecue on the grill. Sticker decals of a fireplace and an herb garden add to the pretend play.

There's a shelf on the other side of the playset that can serve as a small table where kids can eat, and kids can pretend to serve up food from the kitchen and pass it through the large window to the table outside.

Is It Fun?

This play kitchen is free of bells and whistles, and we love it. That really lets kids guide the play. You will have to provide your own play food pieces, but even without the inclusion of those, there's still plenty to inspire kids' imaginations. The kitchen has a cozy cottage style, and even though it's tall and narrow, it still has multiple play areas. And the fold-in side panels give it a smaller footprint in your home.

Who It’s For

The Garden View Kitchen is for ages 2 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Adult assembly is required. It took us 25 minutes to do, and some of the steps were difficult. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver.
