Little Live Scruff-a-Luvs Real Rescue Electronic Pet Review (Moose Toys)

Little Live Scruff-a-Luvs Real Rescue Electronic Pet
What It Is

Last year's Little Live Scruff-a-Luvs turned nurturing pet rescue into a collectible play pattern. This year, Scruff-a-Luvs brings it to life with the new Real Rescue Electronic Pet. Just like with the original pets, you won't know whether you're getting a cat or a dog until you open up the box and place the ball of matted fur in water. But with these new electronic versions, the mystery animals have more than 35 sounds and reactions. So the matted fur ball will shiver, and as you groom and feed your animal, you might hear it burp. When you stroke its head, you'll hear its heartbeat along with happy noises. And playing with your pet will reveal even more interactions.

You can also name your pet and fill out the adoption certificate and ID tag on the animal's collar. A comb and bottle help inspire the pretend pet play.

Is It Fun?

Just like the originals, kids are going to like the surprise of unboxing and revealing their pet. The inclusion of the sounds and reactions helps to enhance the nurturing pet play and makes the whole experience a little more interactive.

Who It’s For

Little Live Scruff-a-Luvs Real Rescue Electronic Pet is for young animal lovers ages 4 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The toy includes the Scruff-a-Luv, a collar with ID tag, a bottle, a comb, an adoption certificate, and instructions. It also comes with two AA batteries, but those power the demo features, so you might want to replace them before you play.

In order to dry off your animal, you will need a towel and a hair dryer. Expect it to take at least 20 minutes to dry the animal with a hair dryer. This wait time might not matter much to kids, but for parents who are wielding the hair dryer, it can be a bit annoying.

You can place the Scruff-a-Luv in a washing machine, but make sure to remove the electronic unit first.

For every Scruff-a-Luv purchased, Moose Toys donates to the ASPCA.
